Meighan Harmon has, since 1996, focused on complex family law cases involving the distribution of multi-million dollar estates. Ms. Harmon is an experienced litigator as well as a trained collaborative lawyer and a family law mediator. A Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, in 2004 the Law Bulletin Publishing Company named Meighan Harmon as one of the "40 Attorneys Under 40 In Illinois to Watch", and she has since been named in Best Lawyers of America, an Illinois "Super Lawyer" and in the Leading Lawyers Network. Ms. Harmon obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois (1993) and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Notre Dame (1996). While at Notre Dame, Ms. Harmon worked on the research and drafting of a book entitled Problems in Family Law, published in 1997 by Aspen Legal Publishing. Ms. Harmon has since published articles in the Matrimonial Strategist, the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin and the Family Advocate, and she co-authored a chapter entitled Employee Benefits: Stock Options, ESOP, etc., for the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education. Ms. Harmon has also lectured on a variety of subjects, including trial techniques and various family law topics, for the Chicago Bar Association and the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education, and she is a past Chair of the CBA Young Lawyers Division; Trial Techniques Committee. Ms. Harmon is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, American Bar Association, Association for Conflict Resolution and is a fellow in the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois.
