Schiller DuCanto & Fleck LLP is pleased to announce that partner Brendan Hammer will share insights on the many benefits of meditation as part of the “Mental Health and Self-Care Week” virtual programming hosted by DePaul University College of Law/Schiller DuCanto & Fleck Family Law Center on Monday, February 15, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. CST. The week-long event will cover topics on mental health and substance abuse, emotion, cognition and the practice of law, as well as yoga and meditation. Judges, professors, lawyers and law students are invited to attend.

Given the stress and strain brought on by the pandemic, Brendan will discuss the advantages of clearing the mind and hitting the reset button allowing room for growth and creativity.  Brendan will share insights on the mindful practice of meditation, the various techniques involved and helpful tips on how to efficiently meditate. To get participants in a meditative frame of mind, read Brendan’s latest article, “Preparing to Plant the Seed: On How Doing Nothing is Doing A Lot.”

An experienced and acclaimed trial lawyer in the field of family law, Brendan is well-regarded for his creative and psychologically sophisiticated approach to litigation. Brendan serves as Chair of the Advisory Board of DePaul University College of Law’s Schiller DuCanto & Fleck Family Law Center as well as the Advisory Council of the David Lynch Foundation in Chicago, which works with schools and community organizations to help heal trauma, improve resilience and reduce violence through the practice of meditation.
