Donald Schiller Presented “Award Of Excellence” By The Decalogue Society of Lawyers

Congratulations to our firm’s Co-Founder and Senior Partner, Donald Schiller, on being honored with the “Award of Excellence” by the Decalogue Society of Lawyers. Donald was presented with the prestigious award at the 88th Annual Installation and Awards Dinner on July 7, 2022, hosted at the Union League Club of Chicago. Schiller DuCanto & Fleck was proud to serve as a sponsor of the event and congratulates this year’s deserving honorees.

According to the Decalogue Society, the Award of Excellence is presented to “attorneys who bring increased dignity and honor to the legal profession by, among other things, rendering useful community service or participating in worthy movements for the public welfare.” Donald is well regarded as one of the nation’s leading matrimonial lawyers who has received countless recognitions and awards throughout his impressive legal career. For the past 50+ years, Donald has represented affluent clients and their spouses in high profile cases from the business, professional, entertainment, and sports communities. Among his many notable achievements, he has served as President of the Illinois State Bar Association and was National Chair of the Family Law Section of the American Bar Association. Donald is also the subject of a chapter in the book The Divorce Lawyers: The People and Stories Behind Ten Dramatic Divorce Cases, written by Emily Couric. Dedicated to mentoring the next generation of legal professionals, Donald has taught at the University of Chicago Law School for over 20 years.

Crain’s Chicago Business has lauded Donald as “a gentleman in a volatile profession,” and Illinois Super Lawyers awarded him the title “Don of Divorce.” Donald has also earned praise by Town and Country Magazine, Worth Magazine, Chicago Sun-Times, National Law Journal, and he has been listed in all editions of The Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers, and Leading Lawyers. The Decalogue Society of Lawyers was founded in 1934 and is the nation’s oldest Jewish bar association. Decalogue’s mission is to advance each lawyers’ professional development, raise the standards of the bar and bench, educate the public on legal and Jewish issues, and maintain vigilance against discriminatory public and private practices, particularly anti-Semitism.
