Schiller DuCanto & Fleck is pleased to announce that Partner Joshua Jackson recently shared insights on the best practices in specific courtrooms as part of the Lake County Bar Association’s (LCBA) Family Law Mid-Year Seminar held on October 7, 2021.
The virtual seminar delved into trending Family Law topics including: child support against the backdrop of Illinois Department of Health and Family Services and the differentiators between administrative orders and court orders, cross examination of a Guardian Ad Litem, recent legislative updates, parenting coordination, qualified domestic relations orders (QDRO’s), as well as best practices in specific courtrooms. Given the many changes to courtroom proceedings within the last year and a half due to the impact of COVID-19, guidelines have been developed and set in place to ensure the safety of the attorneys, clients, and judges. However, it’s important to note that each courtroom has its own specific protocols, which is why it’s necessary to stay up to date on these guidelines.
With more than 15 years of legal practice, Joshua is an experienced litigator and skilled negotiator who focuses his practice exclusively on complex family law matters, including novel property division and support issues, interstate and international issues, business valuation, interstate custody disputes, trusts, tax issues, and orders of protection.
