Shaska Dice is a partner with Schiller DuCanto & Fleck LLP who represents high net worth clients in family law matters such as divorce, custody, parentage, and post-decree proceedings. She is an experienced trial litigator who has litigated pre- and post-decree cases involving complex financial and parenting matters in Cook, Lake, and DuPage counties. She is noted for her preparedness, exceptional legal acumen, and pragmatism when litigating cases, yet she is also well-versed in collaboration and helps navigate clients down the path that serves their best interests.

While always prepared to litigate a case when necessary, Shaska understands that a carefully negotiated and well-reasoned settlement can often best serve her clients’ emotional and financial stability. She recognizes the stress a divorce proceeding has on an individual and a family unit, and her ultimate goal is to minimize the strain felt by her clients. To that end, Shaska has trained as a mediator as well as in the Collaborative Law arena; she is committed to the practice of alternative dispute resolution and truly believes in the art of negotiation.

The thoughtful approach Shaska employs with her cases has enabled her to build long-lasting relationships with her opposing attorneys, judges, and other experts in the field. When conflict and tensions are running high, Shaska is able to navigate through the emotional turmoil by maintaining an even-keel, managing expectations, and ultimately delivering favorable results for her clients. With a background in the field of psychology, Shaska understands the role different personality traits of those involved play in a divorce proceeding. By recognizing and not diminishing these differences, Shaska has been able to build her reputation as a considerate yet zealous divorce attorney.

Prior to joining Schiller DuCanto & Fleck, Shaska worked as an attorney at a boutique family law and civil litigation firm in Chicago. During her eight years with the firm, Shaska helped guide high net worth clients including business owners, executives, and professionals through the divorce process.

Shaska was born and raised in the United Kingdom; however, she has called Chicago home for well over a decade. She is a graduate of Northwestern University and Michigan State University College of Law. She is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, Lake County Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association and American Bar Association. Shaska has been selected as an Emerging Lawyer by the Illinois Leading Lawyers network from 2017 – 2019. Leading Lawyers recognizes only the top 2% of practicing attorneys under 40 years old who have been practicing less than 10 years in their specific practice area.

When not at the office, Shaska relishes every moment with her husband and two young children. She is an active member of the Evanston community and an avid NU Athletics aficionado.
